Osreton
Before the nation itself formed, the territory that is now Osreton was inhabited by numerous tribes. Due to the uniquely hostile lands, nearly all these tribes grew to have a deep respect for nature, lest they face any consequences.
The Great Forest of Osreton first officially formed on September 14th, 1897 after an intense expulsion of numerous companies that had set up operations within the area. After nearly a decade of worker deaths and destruction of the environment, the native and immigrant worker populations were able to reach an understanding and rid themselves of these exploitative companies. This new government was extremely decentralized and focused on workers providing what they could for the entire country. Some consensuses that were reached were things like halting deforestation and pollution, the creating of large swathes of protected lands, and the first efforts in making sustainable energy and farming. |
